Texarkana, Texas – September 1, 2016 – Zac the Zombie is an American rock band formed in 2015 by founder Zac Crye (guitar, vocals) and Marc Runion (drums) upon the release of their debut EP …and the Foul Mouth Crows. The band has since recruited bassist, Trent Reed, and Justin Parker of Sylo on lead guitar, and are gearing up to release their first single titled, “Medusa,” November 1st.
…and the Foul Mouth Crows, the debut EP from Zac the Zombie, proves to be a bold interjection to the abysmal hum of contemporary rock music, and stands as a solid foundation for a band that shows much potential. With only a drummer-for-hire and three of his own songs, Zac Crye entered Sound Machine Studios in Corpus Christi, TX in the summer of 2015, pulling duties for bass, guitars, and vocals. The entire EP was recorded in a matter of eight hours featuring three iconic tracks which cover a vast region of the rock and roll spectrum.
“Ain’t It So,” the first track from the album, is a prime example of the band’s ability to blend all areas of the genre in a subtle, yet highly effective manner, pulling from their deeply embedded, extremely vintage grunge roots and crossing into blues and psych-rock. The song features catchy melodies and guitar harmonies over a rhythm section comparable to Black Sabbath. Other similar artists include: Queens of the Stone Age, The Foo Fighters, Cage the Elephant, Fu Manchu, Corrosion of Conformity, Guns N’ Roses, and Down.
Zac the Zombie are geared to release their new self-titled LP early this spring, and listeners can hear their new single, “Medusa” November 1st. They will be touring in support of their album beginning in August. Keep up with Zac the Zombie on Facebook and Twitter.
