New Country Album Out Now
Nashville, Tennessee – September 13, 2018 – Taking two of the most celebrated men in Hollywood and music and combining their talents into one record has resulted in a masterful country record that takes listeners back to the basics of what has made the genre everlasting in the hearts of millions of fans around the world. Hearts that will soon make room for William Shatner and Jeff Cook’s collaborative album, Why Not Me.
An actor, director, author and singer best known for his roles in Boston Legal and Star Trek, William Shatner is a Hollywood and pop culture icon with one of the most recognizable voices on Earth. A voice that would blend well with Jeff Cook’s on a record. Of course, Jeff is no newcomer to the game. A longtime member of the Grammy-winning country band Alabama, Jeff Cook is an icon in his own right as well.
William Shatner and Jeff Cook decided to combine their skills, a distinctive speaking voice with a melodic gem, and create an album that features wonderfully executed songs that have Shatner’s spoken word playing alongside Jeff Cook’s harmonies. Why Not Me also features the likes of Cash Creek on “Should’a Loved,” and Neal McCoy and Home Free on the title track (“Why Not Me”) which will be the next single. The duo are set to perform on The Grand Ole Opry in February 2019.
“Why Not Me” will follow their debut single, “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drink Alone.” A song that hit radio this summer and was met with an abundance of praise. Storme Warren of Sirius XM said, “It’s Awesome,” adding, “I think it’s great.” While Dale Carter of PD KFKF FM in Kansas City noted, “I think this record is pure fun. Something we all need right now.”
