‘The Rise and Fall of O’Ren Black’ out April 15
Chicago, Illinois – April 17, 2017 – Most people aren’t afraid of the dark. They’re afraid of what they might see if someone turns out the lights. StereoViolet embraces the dark and the darkness of the world we live in. It’s not about finding the light. It’s about adjusting our eyes to the dark to see what’s always been there. And that is precisely what StereoViolet forces us to do in their debut album, The Rise and Fall of O’Ren Black, released April 15, 2017.
Each member of this Windy City band comes with a history immersed in music. All have been involved with sound one way or another since childhood and developed their skills in an array of bands before joining together to form indie rock’s latest addiction, StereoViolet.
Driven by the soulful vocals of frontwoman Bianca B. Black, The Rise and Fall of O’Ren Black, skillfully combines each member’s musical background and influences. Powerful yet melodic vocals, hard-rock fueled percussion, early punk guitars, the funk of bass and, of course, rock throughout the decades from the free-spirited 60’s to the grunge of the 90’s. All of that rolled into one sounds like a lot, but StereoViolet managed to take it all and fuse it together into an ensemble that’s a perfect fit for indie rock fans.
StereoViolet recently played their album release show in their hometown of Chicago, Illinois, at Subterranean. In the coming weeks, they’ll play several more local shows as they put the finishing touches on a handful of regional tours.
