Tema, Ghana – December 5th, 2014 – Described as “iconic” and “breath-taking”, Sarkodie is Ghana’s premier musical export. Rapping since the tender age of four, Sarkodie has been big in the business since 2008.
Now Sarkodie is moving onto bigger, better pastures. “I’ve started up my own record label, SarkCess Music, which is signing up new talent with fresh ideas,” said the artist. “I also have a charity, the Sarkodie Foundation, which helps needy kids in orphanage homes in Ghana.”
In the music world, he’s earned plenty of international accolades, including, but not limited to:

- World Music Awards 2014: Best Entertainer Africa
- Nigerian Entertainment Awards (USA) 2013: Best Hip Hop Act
- O.B.O. Awards 2012: Best African Act (Nominee)
- 3rd album: Sarkology – with 30 tracks and was produced by 13 Producers.
Most notably, Sarkodie works in his native language Twi, with some English mixed in, giving his music a distinct and unique feeling. Notable influences include Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and Obrafour.
Sarkodie is currently working on his fourth studio album, entitled Mary, named for his late grandmother. The album is a live album, and is expected to be released in winter 2015.

Sarkodie began his career as an underdog rapper, maturing into a multi-faceted international artist, famed in his native Ghana and internationally.
