San Francisco, California — Thursday, July 18th, 2019 — Sargent Tucker’s (ST) impetus for creating this music – “My desire is to write meaningful music with lyrics that inspire self-worth, values the experiences of relationships, and spreads infinite love to others”.
One of life’s major relationship challenges is transitioning through difficult, emotionally painful experiences, while maintaining a love for self, and others involved. Too often, when a relationship comes to an end, the departure seems unendurable. However, those who have lived a little know that trying times will pass. As one matures, having peace of mind becomes the focus for achieving real-life success. Whether differences grow from cherishing material processions more than each other, or from engaging in drama, life goes on after losing someone, who can’t be replaced. ST’s song, “No One Can Replace You”, was created to inspire self-value and hope in the midst of pain from ending a relationship.
Without any fear to stand-alone for what he believes, ST has never been a follower. Absent of the need for personal recognition, ST prefers to edify the successes of others, rather than his own. ST doesn’t take himself too seriously, as he reminded us that, “music is only 12-notes”. However, ST definitely takes his work seriously, similar to a perfectionist, which is his approach to nearly everything. Music is ST’s love, but not his only love. More than fortune, fame, or stardom, ST placed greater value on a promise to his mother to finish college (and graduated with honors from the University of California, Davis).
Sargent Tucker’s most recent release, “I Need Your Love” featuring Drizabone, charted #1 on the United Kingdom’s Solar Radio. His song “I AM Happy” was selected as the theme song for the Happiness Foundation, where ST was the featured performer at the Hollywood Global Happiness day; The honorees included Will Smith, Ellen Degeneres, Goldie Hawn, and Robbie Williams. This event was sponsored by the International Happiness Foundation, Drai’s W Hotel, and Dr. Shelly Sykes, a USA Multiple Best-Selling Award-Winning Author.
Currently, Sargent Tucker is writing and arranging new material. He finished recording a new single titled, “No One Can Replace You”, written and arranged by ST. Again, overseeing this production is Levi Seacer, Grammy Nominated Producer, and former Music Director of the late, great PRINCE. Summer 2019 is the tentatively scheduled release date. The studio musicians who contributed to this project include: Danny Thomas (Keyboardist) Co-founder of “Con-Funk Shun”, Carl Lockett, Legendary Bay Area (Guitarist); Lorenzo Hawkins (Keyboardist); Will Williams (Guitarist); Levi Seacer (Guitar & Keyboards), Cedric Wilmott, and Edwin Moore (Drums); and Sargent Tucker (Bass Guitar) Lead and background vocals.
