Bishop William M. Cooper was born and reared in Idabel, Oklahoma. The promising star was encouraged to sing from the young age of 4 at Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ. Bishop’s incomparable vocal abilities enabled him to sing in a variety of talent shows and church programs, where he continued to entrance audiences with his skills.
As an anointed young man with the desire to sing, as fate would have it, Bishop joined the Heavenly Five Gospel Singers at the age of 11. The group included his brothers as well as his cousin, and became a focal platform for him to explore his gift. At the age of 13, Bishop became the lead singer in the group.
Bishop Cooper graduated high school in 1978, and his life and career path took yet another turn. He went on to attend Langston University where he majored in Music from 1979 to1981 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Although music was still in his heart, God was calling him to a higher “Note,” and Bishop therefore accepted his call into the ministry in 1981. Bishop Cooper has continued to sing with various groups, built 26 churches, and is currently pasturing Whitestone Apostolic House of Prayer.
