Hence The Noise’s 13-Year-Old Drummer Plays Circles Around His Peers
New Album, Minute With Me, Out Now
New York City, New York – September 18, 2017 – Creating classic metal music with a modern twist, Hence The Noise is far from cookie cutter with their debut Minute With Me. Plus, they have a secret weapon in their holster, 13-year-old drummer Robbie Russo.
Guitarists Rob Russo and Eddie Vandenko both came up in the New York City club scene in the late 80’s and found musical solace and a friend in one another soon after meeting in a mutual friend’s garage. Years later they found their lead singer, Chandler Mogel, online. Finally, they were rounded out by a surprising addition, Rob’s own son Robbie.
Being that his father was a musician, Robbie found his way to a drum kit when he was a mere three-years-old. What makes Robbie stand out is that he was born with a club right hand. With a shortened right arm and missing his right thumb, many would have thought there was no way he could play like he does – but he plays better than people two, three times his age.
Robbie turned 13 while Hence The Noise was recording Minute With Me, and proved to be a creative powerhouse throughout the whole process. While other kids his age were preparing for middle school, he was doing that on top of rocking out in a heavy metal band that explodes not only in their sound, but lyrically as well.
