Green Bananas Drops Debut EP
Days Out Now
Madrid, Spain – May 3, 2018 – Green Bananas is wasting no time getting things going with his indie rock sound. With a debut EP out now entitled Days, and a full length on the way, this is bound to be the year Green Bananas is on everybody’s radar.
Green Bananas is a one-man show led by Mikel Sagüés. He spent the ’90s fronting and composing for PURR. With them, he released a trio of records on Subterfuge Record and played almost 300 shows over the span of seven years. Now he’s focused on making music that is 100% him. He writes every word and plays every instrument heard throughout his debut EP, Days. From the drums to the bass to the vocals, it’s purely Mikel Sagüés through and through.
Days can be placed on the shelf next to other indie rock records but Green Bananas takes things further, really takes time to develop audible layers as a composer as well as a performer. There are hints of pop, shoegaze and more hidden in plain sight as Days takes listeners through atmospheric and spiritual ambient landscapes. Emotional at times, Green Bananas delivers music fans of The War on Drugs, Arcade Fire, and The National have been known to do, only on his terms.
While Mike does it all in the studio, live he joined by Borja Tena (percussion), Jose Crespo (bass), and Rafa Parras (guitar). They have been able to help elevate the music on a live plain. The four will be playing in and around Spain throughout the summer.
