Instead, they want to inspire change and create a movement that leads us towards a world where our governments and the corporations that seemingly influence them are held accountable when they put profit over people. Like many musicians that came before them who used music to urge change, Drugs For Guns are doing the same only with pulsating electronic beats.

The video for their latest single, “Heaven or Hell,” is both currently relevant and punishingly real. All the while, Drugs For Guns’ music slowly builds until it boils over at the end. “Heaven or Hell” follows the release of 2019’s “Heads or Tails” which presented high energy throughout. The latest release is Heaven Or Hell. This is about how man is constantly in a state of revenge and violence is circular. How we are lied to re the reasons for conflict. How countries with terrible human rights records are left alone if they have no resources that can be controlled or if they have resources that are necessary for our out of control ‘economic growth’.

This is music not for the faint of heart!

What inspired you to write this release?

The inspiration for most of our music comes from the same place.

This is not about riots, smashing up infrastructure, throwing away your possessions. This is not about anarchy as that will just end up putting power in other bullies’ hands albeit this time they will not be wearing Pin Stripe suits. A utopia of an anti-capitalist sharing world is a fight for another day! There is nothing to be gained from idealism. Too many are not enlightened enough to understand they are continually governed by an unnecessary instinct for survival that manifests itself in greed. We are the smart ones who understand this primal nonsense and intellectualize it away for a safer and more sustainable world. This is also not about ‘Saving The Planet’. The planet does not need saving. It was fine before we turned up and it will be fine without us.

What this is about is saving our place on this planet. Making Government and Corporations accountable for all the unethical things they do whether that be environmental or economical. We must strive to get an ego, greed, and self-serving rhetoric out of all government. It is about looking at the companies you use and to disappear out of the pockets of any that do not meet your standard of what is fair. We have just one vote but we can use it every day. They are few and we can be many. Spread the word and when we join together we can make a difference.

This is about doing the right thing. Let’s leave the idealism for another day and concentrate on what we can do now. The first step is to get Capitalism regulated. Where every companies Carbon Footprint and distribution of wealth have to meet a fair and sustainable level. Our generation has to slow down this monster leaving future generations the opportunity to change it completely. The best we can do is try and make a future a possibility. Time is running out. DFG will be out playing as soon as the awful pandemic of COVID 19 is under control and people can group safely again. Hopefully not long now before things get back to being relatively normal.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

We just do what we do but hope that people realize we are trying to start a serious movement for change as well as releasing music and videos that hopefully inspire people.
