“I go by Zen Ryda, King of the waves, make sure you like to comment, subscribe,… I’m just kidding” Zen said as he was turning and pointing towards the cameras. From that intro, nothing less than a great time was to be expected interviewing the upcoming superstar. Zen Ryda gave us his background and his plans for the future in this interview while making a lasting impression. The “King of the Waves” talks all that and more in his Rep Ya Rap Radio interview.

“Tell us the beginning of your story”

“I’m Zen Ryda a calm cool collected dope-ass person to know. I was born and raised in San Antonio tx, some years were better than others but as long as I became better each day I was living the best way I could. I fell in love with rap when I heard a punchline really hit, not sure what the line is now I just know I was hooked. From there I got heavy into battle rap and ill still go bar for bar with anyone. I cant find the words to describe what a well-written punchline does for my spirit. Have you ever heard a rap line so good you just smiled? NO other genre in music can make you stop mid-song or where ever you hear a fire line and start it over from the beginning. That’s what started me on this journey and it’s why I still do it today.”

Zen Ryda Vs The Legend He wanted to be

“Yea, I wasn’t always the king of the waves, I was going by Livin Legend years ago. With my notorious band of brothers, the Lyrical gods were Encees on a mission. Back then I was modest about dreams of fame and riches I just enjoyed rapping and would do anything to be able to rap for a living. My brothers though (Trig, Lyric, A.M. Jeremo) had stars in their eyes and would constantly talk of becoming famous while for me being known in the city was awesome for me. I used to believe being big in my state was a huge leap,”

You don’t feel the same way currently do you?

“Nope, I’ve accomplished so much this year I couldn’t stop if I wanted to. I’ve been playlisted serval times, had multiple magazine articles, I won the Strathmore Who’s Who award, I signed to two labels without going in debt, I went from artist to A&R at my first label, Won the interview with Funk Flex, I’ve traveled more this year, made a good income from my music. Just two days ago I was informed I’m performing at the next BET Awards as one of the red carpet Artist. Which is going to add some great footage to my project I’m in the middle of.”

Can we get some details on this project you seem to be being secretive about?

“I can tell you and since this is going on the internet as well ill provide some links for you to add. But I’m filming a docuseries showing my life as of 2020, after my hard push in 2020 let’s see how harder I have to go. It’s based around the drive and wants to improve. Like my music, I leave easter eggs all over the place.

What to Expect??

Well, 2020 was nobody’s year but I took advantage of every opportunity, and next year the only difference is I’ll be ready. But to close up this year I have a few concerts booked and I have new music I’m sitting on. I just don’t know when to drop it, this time of the year is always bad cause your song gets placed in that last year category in people’s minds and with so many drops at the start of the year you can lose in the mix. I’m Dropping freestyle though with every appearance I make for the rest of the year. Ill go to the booth after this interview and show out a little bit. You’ll enjoy it.
