SARASOTA, FLORIDA – January 9, 2012 – “We don’t know what to call it, that’s up to the listener’s
perception. says founding member, ‘ObiShawnKenobi’, of the band’s
unique sound and vibe. The music is tribal, primal drumming/percussion,
and the sounds of the ancient didgeridoo played with a modern,
innovative style by other founding member, Lembonius.
The first self-titled release by the band is all instrumental, but they have been
recording many new songs with vocals done by Shawn, and other guests
including Kelly Shaefer of the tech-metal pioneering band “Atheist, and
Julia Simms. Shawn himself was formerly guitarist of the band
“Neurotica, which also had Shaefer on vocals, and was fortunate enough
to have their first album “Seed produced by none other than Brian
Johnson of AC/DC, and to earn a slot on the infamous Ozzfest tour.
Didges Christ Super Drum is a far cry from the arena rock/metal sounds of his former
band, being mostly drums and didgeridoo, but it does feature the
occasional guitar exploration and hard-rock energy. The band’s live show
is very theatrical with elaborate costumes including Balinesian theatre
death masks, and interpretive dance, and they have been making waves
headlining independent drum festivals, and most recently playing for
20,000 zombies at ZombiCon in Ft. Myers, Florida.
The music is available at the band’s website http://www.didgeschristsuperdrum.com and is
independently released on Shawn’s label, Eden Song, which also home to
his other band “World Collision http://www.worldcollision.com
all music is of course also available online at iTunes and CDbaby.
