Challenga Brings Hip Hop to a New Generation with ‘M.O.N.E.Y’

New EP’s Out Now

Port Coquitlam, BC – October 13, 2017 – Challenga has lived everywhere from New York to Los Angeles to Hong Kong, but no matter where he was he’s worked hard on breaking “the Asian American Myth and to show how beautiful Hip Hop can be in another culture” in his music like on his 2017 release, M .O.N.E.Y.

Challenga attributes his skills with rhymes to his bi-coastal upbringing. He notes, “Since I was born on the east coast and was raised in the west coast, i rap about the west coast lifestyle in a east coast lyrical way,” adding, “I stick to the fundamentals of punchlines, wordplay, delivery and the way I ride on the instrumental.” He’s also always brought his culture into the mix, “As An Asian American, i speak consciously through hip hop about the Asian American struggles.”

He did it with his 2016 debut,  From CA to B.C and he has done it once more with M.O.N.E.Y. Which is why he’s been able to play notable events so far like a cancer fundraiser in 2016, Rappers without Borders at the UBC campus this past April, freestyled with Jin the Emcee during one of his CD signings, and placed in the top 10 out of over 50k for JacknforBeats. Check out the submissions that got him there here and here.

Next up for Challenga will be the release of a pair of videos for “M.O.N.E.Y” and “Queenless.” For those interested in adding either of those songs to their playlists or interviewing Challenga about his upbringing and rhymes can get in touch via the information provided below.

Challenga is an Asian American rapper born on the east coast and raised out west, who brings his bi-coastal styles and heritage to the table in his music, and on his latest release M.O.N.E.Y.
