Vicious J, born Voshawn Johnson, is an American rapper. Born in the Settegast neighborhood of music rich, Houston, Texas, he entered the music industry in 2016, shortly after the birth of his daughter Mila Jenna Johnson. Raised by a single mother and his two sisters, Johnson developed a love for music as a young boy singing in choir at his church. He started rapping after he tore his Achilles at a football combine, after attending McMurry University. Vicious decided to take music serious after the death of his baby sister Varneisha Gant, in 2017, who his video “Help Me” is a tribute to. His producer Blaze gave him the name “Vicious J” which comes from playing football and rapping so aggressive. The rapper cites hip hop heavy weights such as Ice Cube, Pimp C, Public Enemy, DMX. Vicious J has been making noise with his music and building a name for himself in cities like Atlanta, New York City, and his hometown Houston, Tx. In October of 2017, the artist linked up with DJ Absolute and the Roc Nation in New York to perform at a show. Released his first video “Lord Help Us” in December of 2017 as a tribute to Houston after Hurricane Harvey, followed by “Never” featuring Highlife Association in 2018. Since then Vicious has dropped multiple videos which are available to watch on streaming sites such as YouTube, including his latest releases titled “Pressur, Fake, & What About You".
