Vidal Joy

Vidal Joy is a poet, author, and hip hop recording artist.  Born in Memphis, Tennessee in a neighborhood historically known as “Orange Mound”, where he spent his early years.  Mr. Joy was raised between there Memphis, Tennessee and Chicago, Illinois.  In Chicago, he lived on the westside in the North Lawndale area where in explored a number of his passions from basketball, poetry, academics,  art, and music. Aside from his own love for music, Mr. Joy’s favorite uncle shared and further enhanced his adoration for music. The uncle, himself was in the music business often allowed Vidal to accompany him on overnight, sometimes several days of studio recording. From that initial engagement with music, Vidal Joy music would some way always be a major part of his life.
