Uncle Barnaby Duo
Uncle Barnaby (David Stumph) and The Jude (Judy Parker) come together to perform as Uncle Barnaby & The Jude.
After a 40-year hiatus from performing, Stumph returned to music in 2017 following a successful business career.
A Vietnam veteran, Stumph’s songwriting chronicles his service and life’s experiences. He formed the band, Uncle Barnaby, in Chicago after returning from Vietnam in 1968. The band became part of the Chicago folk music scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s that spawned the likes of John Prine, Steve Goodman, and others. Stumph carries on the band’s legacy and the Uncle Barnaby name.
With music always prominent in the Stumph home throughout his performing hiatus, Stumph’s son, Patrick, picked up were he left off in the mid-1970’s to become the voice of the band, Fall Out Boy.
Uncle Barnaby’s debut CD released in May 2018, Uncle Barnaby: On My Way Home, and follow up album released in 2020, by the Uncle Barnaby Trio, Better World, are available at www.soundcloud.com/unclebarnaby and at www.unclebarnaby.com/music, Spotify, Apple Music, and other online sources.
Parker also comes to music after a successful career in the service industry. She inherited a number of harmonicas from her father and began playing in earnest in the early 2000s. While playing open mics, she caught the attention of the local music community and began performing regularly and sitting in with musicians at the highest levels. Since joining with Uncle Barnaby, she has enjoyed performing regularly throughout the Colorado Front Range.
Uncle Barnaby & The Jude, with a number of guest performers, are currently working on a third album due for release in April, 2021. Watch for details at www.unclebarnaby.com.
