Hip HopAbout
Stew-Art an artist, producer and engineer from the DMV area. He's only ever had two passions in life, the first was basketball and he was blessed to have enough talent to make it to the collegiate level as an athlete. With that being said being a student didn’t work out for him. He failed every class he enrolled in, but meanwhile he was writing poetry and freestyling in his spare time. He dropped out of school, started working a 9-5 and smoking a lot of weed. A few of his friends from high school came to him one day and convinced him to start taking his music serious. Once he came to acceptance with the fact that basketball wasn’t going to be his career he put his all into music. He fell in love with music in 2013 when he started to realize that not only could he write poems and freestyle some dope stuff, but he could also turn that into a beautiful record as well. At that point he set a goal to write a verse or a song everyday. He then did that for the next 3 years. As time went on he learned more about the business side of the music and what it would take for to sell music properly. He was slowly progressing as an artist but still nowhere where he wanted to be. One day someone asked him "What he would do in 5 years if he doesn't make it in music by then." At the time his response was that "he would probably get into managing artist; maybe a group and try to build them up into something." Shortly after hearing that question he came in contact with a music school called SAE Institute in Nashville, TN, where he graduated from in 2018. His goal from the first day of classes was to really shape his sound as an engineer, as well as a beat maker. After the time it took him to earn that degree he walked away a much more knowledgable Stew-Art, when it came to the music business, as well as the work thats put into the creation and polishing. Even though he still has a lot of work to do before he would consider himself a good engineer and producer he managed to pick up on the skills very quickly. Since then he's released a few singles as well as a 7 song album. He's been through some ups and downs, made some choices that many people question but at the end of the day he knows that he's working on divine timing and his time is coming very soon.
