About

I got my first guitar when I was about 15, my dad paid for a few lessons, then I taught myself from there. I began playing with bands before I was 18 and playing in bars on top of that. Over those first few years of playing I focused mainly on perfecting my picking. I played and sang at several restaurants just me and my guitar for a while. Until, I played lead guitar at a couple of gigs and got pigeon holed as a lead guitarist. I played lead guitar mainly in a local area in Texas. I've had several people over the years call me to set in with them playing lead guitar further out in Texas and in a few other states over the years and I still get a call every now and then which makes me feel a little good because it means they still like what I do . I played for many years as a lead guitarist and It wasn't until a few years ago that I really started focusing on writing and playing my own music. Writing doesn't come real easy for me most of the time. When I do get an inspiration. Most of the time it doesn't take too long to finish the song at hand. There was one that alluded me for a few tears though. I'm a walking oxymoron. I like to write, but hate to read. Some people said over the years that I should have went to Nashville or somewhere that is more music oriented to try for a record deal, I got married to the love of my life, and had children, and still playing in bands on the weekends, some bands were mine that I put together and others I was asked to join. As technology has changed over the years it's allowed me to be able to afford to record my songs with a very highly limited budget. I'm kinda old school though. I don't use auto tune and really hate that it is used, but that's my opinion.
