There has never been a doubt that music runs through the veins of Linda Evans. With a family tree that includes both Louis Armstrong, and her father Bernard Wilson - the man behind The Original Blue Notes - it would have been hard for Linda Evans to deny her contributions to the music world. On top of being at the helm of the collective, Sapphire's Blue Notes, Linda is also an accomplished author who has penned everything from TV to movies to books ready to inhabit the reader’s hands across the globe.



Linda Evans found her voice early on and instantly stood out from the rest of the pack. As a woman who can go from a second alto all the way down to the first bass, she prides herself in her vocal uniqueness. She uses those one of a kind pipes to front Sapphire's Blue Notes. The band started with a handful of members in 2013 and today has upwards of 20 musicians that round out the lineup. It hasn’t always been easy though. With her commanding vocal range, she has struggled with members in the past who couldn’t get behind a woman with such a strong voice. Despite having to break ties with those who couldn’t handle what she brought to the table vocally, she notes, “God did not make my voice to sound like any artist I have heard. The reason why music has not been written for me is that I have not found a niche as to where my voice fits.”



With so much going on in the world, Linda Evans has been utilizing her time at home creatively. Musically speaking she created a tribute show dedicated to all the Black lives that have been lost due to police brutality called, “All Lives That Matters.” She has found that to be a common thread in the music she’s been writing lately. She even has plans to make a video honoring the late George Floyd with her rendition of “America The Beautiful.” On top of her new musical ventures, Linda has also written a pair of books this year that she will be focusing more on this fall. Depending on time, she may also start writing her father’s biography. Bernard Wilson was a marvel in the R&B realm but faked his own death after numerous betrayals at the hand of those in the music business. She currently has ancestry investigators searching for him through our DNA match.



Linda Evans' resume spans 40 years and in that time she’s performed everywhere from cruise lines to churches, sold record number pastries to airlines, written books, penned children’s songs, and of course stood out along the way because of her signature sound. While no one knows what the rest of 2020 holds, the multi-talented Linda Evans has major plans in the works.



She is trying to get the O Jays to remake their classics and tour in 2021; working on getting Earth Wind and Fire to do fundraising projects to help raise funds for selective children's organizations; playing a few shows with The Manhattans; booking Sapphire's Blue Notes on a world tour. On top of all of that, Linda Evans is planning a tribute live show called Black Lives Matters, All Lives Matter. The show will be for not only the late George Floyd’s family, but all the families of those who lost a loved one due to police brutality. Black Lives Matters, All Lives Matter is inspired by her July 2020 book, ‘New Justice, New Peace.’ They say the sky’s the limit, but when it comes to Linda Evans - that’s just not high enough.
