Marcus Brantley

Marcus "G-Ree" Brantley was born to Henry and Sandra Brantley in Jackson, MS and raised in a small town called Kosciusko. The youngest of four siblings he always felt as if he had a name to uphold, and the Brantley name was a name that was both respected and hated. Coming up he would listen to his cassettes which included artist such as Lil' Boosie, UGK, Snoop Dogg, 8 Ball and MJG, and more but his biggest inspiration was in fact his brother, Timothy Brantley. "I always wanted to be around Tim when I was younger because he would freestyle with some of his boys, I would tell him I want to learn how to rap, and he would tell me "I'll teach you one day", said Marcus,"and I waited on that day like kids these days wait on Christmas."

Ten years passed and Marcus began perfecting his craft until he graduated high school and enrolled at Holmes Community College in Holmes, MS. Upon entering college he would meet Jeremy "J.Red" Williams and take his first steps in learning what it means to be an artist: determination and persistence. Soon after Marcus and a close friend, Jemetrius "Seven Eleven" Haynes, moved to Round Rock, TX to study Audio Productions at the Art Institute of Austin where he would meet eGet$$$, TnP, and major artists such as Snoop Dogg and 8 Ball and MJG themselves, and where he would learn his next steps to becoming an artist: time and money management. After living in the Round Rock/Austin area for 2 years Marcus moved to McKinney, TX where he would meet artist/engineer Aaron "Skinny Joey" Lord and studio organizer/manager Michael "Uncle Mike" Griffin, bringing us up to speed with life as of now with "G-Ree".
