LET THE HIGH PRAISES OF GOD BE HEARD!”  That’s the motto of gospel singer-songwriter, actress and 2022 Kingdom Image Award Nominee, Shanika Wagner.

Born into a family where music and singing bring joy amid sorrow, Shanika began singing at the tender age of two years old.  While her grounding came in traditional Gospel music – she became known by singing in both secular and gospel venues in the Washington, DC area.  Once in the care of Christ, her confidence began to build, not in skill, but the anointing of God.

She has written for and recorded with the National Capital Baptist Convention Choir for their first project. She is a well-known participant in the National I.R.O.C.K. Choir. She had also sang background for International Recording artist, Bryan Andrew Wilson , most notably on the nationally syndicated television shows, Bobby Jones Gospel and Joyful Noise host Tye Tribbett on BET Networks. She released her debut single titled, All Hail the King, in 2018 and follow-up single, Cornerstone in 2020. She also sings with the BET Urban Nation Choir. She has performed and featured in many plays in the Washington, DC area and on film in the movie Behind Closed Doors: The Redemption of Love (2021). A phenomenal cook and loving Pastor, Shanika, occasionally prepares and serves food for the House of Ruth Women’s Shelter in Washington, D.C. and volunteers with the St. Teresa’s of Avila Parish to distribute food to hungry families.  She believes in faith activation through kingdom works and creating a dynamic worship experience through song by submitting to the Holy Spirit.
