Tamika Brown, known professionally as La Joy White, is an American born rapper, singer, songwriter. She is noted for her versatility as an artist, her “magnetic” lyrics and enchanting flow in her usage of alter egos and articulation.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she become surrounded by rap which she become influenced to be a rapper and singer. She started singing in chorus at an early age. In 2002 she begins to take doing music seriously when she bought her first 8 track Roland. She would make new songs every day and this was before the internet world, so she would burn her songs on CD’s and give out to associate's. After that she begins to perform her writing songs at talent shows.
She has accomplished to perform at Normandie Casino, the Roosevelt Hotel and, the Gig in Los Angeles, C.A, The Green Turtle, and many more venues. She been on a couple of local radio stations. She has some songs in rotation on Pandora.
She was influenced by many successful artists such as Tupac, Lil Kim, Lauren Hill, Sade, Missy Elliot, E 40, Snoop Dogg, and many others. This artist has big encouragement on her music. She will continue to look to these artists for reference in how to get better.
