Jorge Ceruto

Jorge Ceruto started his music studies at home, having his father as a great influencer and supporter. At the age of 4, he already showed ease in the execution of rhythms, at the age of seven he had his first contact with the trumpet and at 12 he started his studies at the Vocational School of Art in Pinar Del Rio - Cuba.

In 1990, he graduated in trumpet, popular percussion and band direction, at the Conservatory of Art - Carlos Idalgo – old EPIA.

Following his musical career, with nineten years, he joined the Military Army, with a single objective, to be Regent Conductor, after 1 year Ceruto was appointed First Sergeant and Musical Director of the Army, staying there for 2 years and a half, when he made the decision to pursue his career as a professional musician, outside the military regime.

Oddara was the name of his first band working as a professional trumpeter, a Cuban dance and popular music orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Domingo Felipe Castro, who was also his musical direction teacher at the art school.

In 1994 he was hired as a trumpeter by the Empresa Nacional de Música de Concerto, and was part of several formations and genres of Cuban concert, dance and popular music, along with artists such as Xiomara Laudar, Septeto Tradicional Jelengue and Conexión Salsera, among others.



Living in Brazil for 23 years, he collects consecrated works with Carlinhos Brown, Daniela Mercury, Jota Quest, Zeca Baleiro, Itacyr Bocatto, Marina De La Riva, Skank, André Abujamra, João Donato, Marcia Castro, Funk Como Le Gusta, Art Popular, Mariana Valdez de Moraes, Mariana de Castro, Mariane de Castro, The Temptations, Felipe Mukenga, Alex Siqueira and Lincoln Olivetti, among others.



Based on this experience in shows, national and international tours, recording DVDs, TV shows, records in the studio and live, Jorge Ceruto, at 42, in 2013, started a new phase of his artistic career. He released his first album, called Mambo Que Sambo Vol. 1, an authorial work produced and arranged by himself, with the participation of João Donato and Zeca Baleiro.

The project translated the perfect synthesis of the relationship between Cuba and Brazil.

Jorge Ceruto is currently in full swing for the release of his second album. Jorge Ceruto Mambo Sambo Vol.2 will be available on all digital platforms in the first days of January this year

16 authorial songs, bring a diversity of rhythms and genres that in a very striking way reaffirms the style and originality of the composer.

The good performance of the many paths arranged in each song, seek non-repetition in their compositions, constantly creating a certain auditory curiosity, with new timbres and instruments expanding the timeless and cultural knowledge.

Jorge also signs his new work as compouser ,Music Producer, Arranger, Percussionist, Trumpeter and Interpreter on all the tracks on the disc.
