John Engel

John Engel’s songs provoke and comfort us, with an intimacy and emotion that draws us in. His Americana-infused music connects new currents of Folk and Dream Pop to the melodic and organic productions of decades past.

Born in Brussels, John Engel is an LA kinda guy. Many years ago he played hundreds of gigs as a solo singer-songwriter in clubs, bars, and festivals. Until his other passion, filmmaking, took over, and the guitars went back to sleep in their cases.

After living sixteen years in California, now he’s sorta back in Brussels. While still producing movies and series, he recorded a dozen of his songs with a band, horn section and string orchestra, and launched his music career in earnest in March 2022. In a little over a year, John has released 9 tracks – a single every six weeks or so.
