Mick Lee ~ Born NYC, moved to London as a teenager, finished school there.

Initially drawn to acting, but became an itinerant musician, bumming around Europe and the Mid-East, busking on street corners, in London Underground tunnels, then ‘graduated’ to club gigs.

‘Discovered’ by Graham Bond, one of the founders of the British Jazz & Blues scene, along with Alexis Korner, who helped the Stones and Free get goin’. Both of them encouraged me, introduced me around London. Played with Mick Taylor, Lemmy of Motorhead and Bill Legend of Marc Bolan’s T Rex, and Glenn Nightingale of the Gap Band, among others.

Befriended by Chris Wood, sax and flute in Traffic, and Paul Kossoff, guitarist in Free, still idolized today by guitarists in the know. Formed an acoustic duo with James Litherland of Colosseum ‘Mick Doo Wop & Jimmy Rhythms’ playing a blend of Blues, R&B and Rock, a hint of Jazz around  the edges. Played clubs all over Europe, toured opening for Alan Price of the Animals.

Formed the Phoenix with Dan McIntosh of Bandit, now married to Kate Bush. The band became a favorite with other musicians, Sting, Gladys Knight & the Pips, John Martin, Cecil & Linda Womack (daughter of Sam Cooke). Toured opening for The Moody Blues in Europe, before moving back to the States.

Formed ‘True Blue Krewe’ in Oregon, featuring A&M artist Andy Armer, and steel guitarist Kenton Emerson. Recorded ‘The Song That’s In Your Heart’ CD before moving to New Orleans for a year. Played with some fabulous musicians; The Malone Brothers (the subdudes and the Radiators), and renowned Nola drummer Johnny Vidacovitch.

Not willing to pony up the cost of a house in Nola (even tho’ I love it), so moved to Asheville, North Carolina, kinda Nola Lite (!) great music, art, food and scenery.…only problem is when you leave town you’re in North Carolina.

Formed ‘Great Degenerates, acoustic trio, recorded ‘Hands Of Time’ CD.
