Jay'e R.'s music journey began at age 6 when he learned to sing. His mother introduced him to a plethora of artists and genres. His main music influences are Whitney Houston, Selena, Celine Dion, Tina Turner, Luther Vandross, Toni Braxton, and Maxwell to name a few. Jay'e R. hit his music stride as a Gospel songwriter in 2009. After relocating to Charlotte NC, Jay'e R. continued to write Gospel music before stepping into writing R&B/Soul. He wrote and recorded his first R&B single in 2013. That same year, he released what would become his first hit song, 'Tonight's Your Night' which hit at #26 on iTunes Top 100 R&B/Soul charts. Jay'e R. signed with Independent Record label Tate Music Group in July 2014, crossing over into Pop music. In June 2016, his debut Pop album 'Like I Love You' which entered the iTunes New Release Top 100 Albums at #1. After leaving his former label, Jay'e R. set out to record his music on his own. Since that time, he has released several singles in different genres from Pop, R&B, Jazz to Classical. Currently working on his sophomore album which is his first studio album in five years. In his home state of NC, Jay'e R. has soared as an Independent Artist. He has had a total of eighteen #1 singles on the Independent Pop and R&B charts. He has also won a total of 17 Independent Music Awards.
