Jared Wade

At 18 years old I worked with a friends band to help write songs. I had had formal music training through school starting before junior high and for three hours a day in middle school . Music was my passion. I helped my friends band get started and  then one morning  I couldn't recall anything about music. It had vanished in the night and while I still enjoyed it , I was left out,  scales  and keys were all non-sense to me. and my music writing dried up quick. I had experiences of being connected to things at times but for the most part it was gone. - Jared

Then  in August of 2018 William and Jared began working on music as a form of therapy. William needed to find an avenue of expression to help him deal with his Schizoaffective (Schizophrenia and bi-polar) disorder. As they started in music Jared was diagnosed with PTSD from childhood trauma. Will and Jared wrote songs to help them gain perspective and grow from their pain. 

Our writing continued and we were joined by a friend (Brian) who excitedly encouraged us to share what we were writing.. With his help we organized a set and in September of 2019 we played at a suicide awareness walk. Life brought more changes (our friend Brian left the group) and more trauma.. We also met Andrew who upon hearing our music said, "I need to record you guys.. "

Receiving counseling for the trauma has awakened Will and Jared to who they are today and to this work they do with www.madhattermusic.org This is our life purpose, to use and find and promote and create music that lifts the hands that hang down. to cheer the broken and mend their hearts . Music is a universal language that unites us as one human race.

Like music unites us nobody wants to lose their loved ones to self harm. By building a culture that focuses on behavior we label people for their mistakes. many times those mistakes have root in mental illness or childhood trauma. By only focusing on the behavior we neglect the cause for it in the first place. Music as therapy saved us and has given us a powerful voice to lift others !
