Jaylen de’Brae Bennett-Cavaiani, or "De’Brea Cavaiani" (Pronounced Duh-Bray Kav-ee-ah-nee) is an American rapper, songwriter & singer. Cavaiani was born and raised in Seattle, WA, where he achieved initial success under the moniker of “J-DASH” (an homage to his hyphenated last name) from 2011-2019. The son of an Emcee & a Poet, Cavaiani began experimenting with songwriting around 7 years of age, writing to old instrumental tapes of 90’s hip-hop music. Continuing to sharpen his skills over the years, he recorded his first song in 2011 at a local boys and girls club after school program & began performing live & releasing music via SoundCloud/BandCamp in 2012.

In May 2015, Cavaiani was selected for and attend the live final 500 audition cyphers at Mission Underground: Los Angeles (MULA) for then cypher-circuit giant “TeamBackpack”. In Summer 2015, he attended the inaugural year of “The Residencey” a program for underprivileged youth artists funded by the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis team. In August that year, Cavaiani released his first EP/Mixtape on BandCamp titled, “Big City, Big Dreams.” (11 tracks long)
After releasing, Cavaiani focused mainly on performing, finishing high school and building brand interest. In 2018, he completed a More Music @ The Moore Theater with Robert Glasper and STG, expanded from Seattle’s local scene into Bellingham’s, played an opening set on the prestigious Bigfoot stage at Washington’s Sasquatch! Music Festival, which would shortly say goodbye after. Cavaiani’s next release, “HennyGawdDemo” (8 tracks long) released on July 31st, 2018, earning an All City Sounds Album Of the Year Nomination for it.

To begin 2019, Cavaiani retired “J-DASH” and became “De’Brea Cavaiani”, still retaining the homage, and he released his first studio project on May 13th of the year, titled “Memories Of Nothing” (12 tracks long), on all major streaming platforms. He then performed later in the month at Bellingham Arts & Music Festival (BAMF) with his former group NoHenn and later released an album with them titled “BackUpInDis” (10 tracks long) in November of 2019.

After a solo hiatus of almost 2 years and a split from his group, Cavaiani released singles in 2 consecutive months during December 2020 and January 2021 to the tune of 10k combined streams. He released his 2nd studio album on May 31st, 2021, titled “Everything You” (15 tracks long), accompanied by 3 leading singles. The 1st of the singles dropped on May 4th, 2021, the title track “Everything You (Hydroplane Lane).” “Everything You” debuted with 33K+ streams, most of which came through Spotify & from the lead singles, solidifying the service as his fan base focus. “EY” would go on to earn a 2021 Seattle AOTY Nomination, via Dan’s Tunes & The Seattle Times.
