John Carter and Salomao Hamzem met in 2012 while playing at open mics in West London area. They admired each others playing and it seemed natural to play together. After that, they decided to take it to the next stage and write songs together. John has had many years experience in a music business and has written many hits songs and been in bands like: The Ivy League, Carter Lewis and Southerners.
Salomao also had experience playing classical music in orchestras and gospel bands in Brazil, his native country and plays guitar, bass, drums and french horn. As writers, they wanted to try something a bit different and hit on the idea of writing songs together in English and Portuguese.
When John and Sal were thinking about names for the band, they came up with the idea of combining the first part of Hamzem and the last part of Carter making "HAMZTER". That's why the hamster has become their mascot.
The first album "A Friend In Need" is a result of this collaboration and they now have released their second album "Coming Home" which is available on all digital platforms and physical CD's.
