Wisdom, advice, personal stories, struggles, and celebration are all of what you'll find in Genecist's music. His motto is "Everyone talks about sex, drugs, and violence, but there aren't many that tell the stories of the nerds, the spiritual, the lovers, and most importantly, the truth."

Born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y. Genecist grew accustomed to the cold; not only the weather but the cold streets around him that were filled with drug dealers, gangs, and those that abuse drugs. As a Jehovah's Witness, Genecist's Mother did everything to keep her son away from an ungodly lifestyle and she used the Bible and various music artists and genres to do so.

Genecist grew fond of Hip-hop music through the likes of Lauryn Hill, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang Clan, and Lupe Fiasco. As for R&B, Genecist loved the groups of the 90s, Boyz II Men, Jodeci, Shai, as well as Stevie Wonder, Johnny Gill, and Brian Mcknight, to name a few.

As a child, Genecist learned that he wasn't only fond of music, but he too, had a gift in singing and creating music. Not too long after discovering his love for writing poetry, Genecist was complimented on his writing ability, flow, and delivery; often times getting feedback that his presentation in poetry reflected that of an MC.

Born from a mother that sang with a beautiful voice and a father that was praised for his rhyming ability, it seemed like fate that Genecist would find himself recording and performing his very own written music. However, although Genecist creates Hip-hop music, he's always been very particular about the message his music shares with the world.

Genecist's music varies from Boom Bap hip hop, Soulful R&B with his singing group "4 B-LO", and songs that'll make you dance. There's no limit to Genecist's music and that's how he likes it.
