About Gabriele

Sardinian guitarist Gabriele Deiana was born in Olbia in 1972 and started playing the guitar at 10 years old as a self-taught musician. Later began classical training under the teaching of Armando Marrosu (an Emilio Pujol alumni).

During the 80s played with different rock and pop groups from the town local scene. In the 1990s he studied jazz and modern harmony at Bolonia University where he graduated in classical guitar, musicology and jazz guitar, consequentely begun to compose his first songs and compositions.  Since the end of the '90 attended more than 400 concerts leading his groups in festivals and in the best Italian and Spanish jazz clubs with original projects in Latin, Jazz and Modern Music field, among them: a guitar duo, a hammond trio, an acoustic quartet, a modern jazz group and recently a flamenco jazz group.

He has collaborated with the best hard-bop musicians of the Italian scene such as: Carlo Atti, Nico Menci, Max Dall'Omo, Stefano Senni, Giancarlo Bianchetti, Alessandro Altarocca, Massimo Ferra, Matteo Carrus. In 1999 attended the IX Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean in Rome selected among 500 young artists in Europe. In the same year opened, with its Acoustic Trio  the concert of the Michael Brecker Quartet and Enrico Rava and Paolo Fresu Quintet at the Festival Internationale di Santa Anna Arresi (Cagliari), which included: Daniele Bonaviri on guitar (Pino Daniele, Gino Vannelli) and Simone Zanchini (accordionist of the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala de Milan). In 2010 opened for Jerry Bergonzi's Quartet in Bolonia with his Hammond Trio. In 2010 he performed at the Music Italy Show in Bolonia in duo with Giancarlo Bianchetti.

Since 2014 he has lived in Madrid where he worked on his most recent disco project Georgina's Rumba involving 36 top level latin musicians, among them former Paco de Lucia Sextet as Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent, El Piraña and 2021 Latin Grammy winners Alain Perez and Ivan "Melon" Lewis. In 2022 published La Media Naranja first single of the album and on February 2023 published Las Olas del Mar second single and in May 26th of the same year full Georgina’s Rumba album came out in Vinyl and CD format.
