Dj Chronic Style

DJ Chronic Style is a South African based DJ and producer who hails from Nkandla but resides in one of the country’s most vibrant township kwaMashu in KwaZulu-Natal. Chronic Style invented his own genre of dance music he calls Gqom Strings which has become his signature sound whether on production or during his DJ sets, his sound is unique and breathtaking.

His work ethic is like that of no other and his vision can only be limited by otherworldly powers. Who would think that a kid from eNkandla could win the South African Top DJ Battle in 2015 against disc jockeys from all over the country to working with the likes of King of Strings Merika Bambala from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Karin Kedem from Germany and Jaiva Zimnike the international Maskandi Music sensation.

His debut EP Chronical Gqom Strings boasts a sound like no other featuring vocal artists such as Fey, Noni Blu, Dope Artists Music, Nathi Zungu, Vista, Winnie Khumalo and her daughter Rethabile. Proving his diversity as a producer and entertainer by merging his own unique style with artists from various genres such as Hip Hop, Contemporary and gospel.

Before embarking on his international music journey, chronic was a regular DJ on Africa’s biggest radio station Ukhozi FM on Saturdays playing on the show Faka Umoya during the golden hour. He left the show to sign a management and recording deal with 035 Come Up Entertainment which has led to him releasing his 1st international single “Now or Never” which features Karin Kedem, Jaiva Zimnike and the King of Strings.
