Christall Kay

Christall has lived a colourful life thus far, and this inspiration is reflected in her music.
She certainly has her feet on the ground, but one thing is “Christall” clear! She is
always reaching for the stars!

Christall has starred in season 1&2 of the hit reality series The Real Housewives of Johannesburg,
where she appears in her own life as Christall Kay! The show witnesses her journey as a music
artist and the viewers got the chance to know her music.
In April of 2017, Christall was discovered online by a Los Angeles music agent,
who invited Christall to Los Angeles, where she was fortunate enough to meet with
top record executives at Capitol Music Group, and Warner Music Group.

The feedback she received was overwhelmingly positive, and has encouraged her to
pursue her music dreams even further. While in Los Angeles on the same visit, she
was invited to attend a prestigious music gala event hosted by a Los Angeles based
music academy, The Akademia, which celebrates independent artists from around

the globe. She was delighted when she was awarded Pop Artist of the Year!
Christall was also placed in the top 3 in a global US song competition, The Music Out
Loud in the USA Song Competition, and she is currently working with US based music
producers on her debut album which will be ready for release before the end of this
year.

The final version of her song Wonder has been produced by US producers The
Klubjumpers who have remixed tracks for stars like Ricky Martin, Britney Spears and
Jason Derulo to name but a few.
The song was inspired by Christall’s curiosity with all things mysterious which makes
her wonder about the Great Wall of China, and the Statues in Rome and so forth,
however the irony is that your lover/partner can make you wonder even more than the
great mysteries of the universe. Let’s face it love can make us crazy!

Christall’s first single Set Apart, has already enjoyed much success both locally, and
in the US, where it charted at no. 55 on the Billboard/Nielsen Airplay US charts.
Christall’s songs have been played on over 30 radio stations across South Africa from
small town community radio stations and retail radio stations to regional radio stations
such as JacarandaFM and Radio Sonder Grense. Christall has performed in a
number of festivals, shows and concerts countrywide. Her house, lifestyle and music
have also been featured on a well-known South African television variety show,
namely, Top Billing.

In the last few years she has worked with top voice coaches Kyl’e Adcock, June
Kraus –Von Trebitsch and Lindy Joubert who have aided in bringing out further
textures and nuances in Christall’s velvet voice. As a songwriter, Christall has
developed her talent. Christall’s clearly crafted melodies with a clever lyrical structure

are certainly what hit songs are made of, and the fine-tuning of her craft no doubt
makes all the difference to the songs that Christall writes. Christall has also acquired a
certification in music and marketing from the University of Witwatersrand,
Johannesburg which has qualified Christall to be a music agent and to represent other
artists in the music industry, and has given her a broad understanding of the music
business in South Africa
In Durban, and while studying, Christall could be found performing at venues like the
well-known beachfront nightclub, Sandpebbles. During this stint, she was fortunate
enough to meet the famous English Pop band Right Said Fred, who offered Christall
some direction and inspiration. After her studies, Christall followed her music calling to
New York City where she lived for 6 months, and teamed up with other local New
York bands. Christall has always been involved in music projects some of which
include collaborating with Afro-pop band Seed and showcasing her talent with them to
Warner Bros Record Company. Christall has also made a number of corporate
appearances, including events like the annual Nedbank Green Day.
Christall’s combination of pop and dance merge to create an electrifying sound that
beautifully showcases her uplifting voice. Christall’s songs will with no doubt provide
inspiration, motivation and a beautiful way of looking at life.
