Cassaun was born in Kansas City, KS but at the age of 5 moved across the river to Kansas City, MO, where she attended school. She grew up in church singing gospel, and performing in local drill team KC Marching Wildcats.
At age of 6 Cassaun’s mother Lisa Lambert, discovered she could sing.
