Carrie is a native New Yorker, born and raised and still resides in Manhattan. Her band ENERGY WHORES just released an album called 2055 in August. They recently released, three songs as singles, Army Of The Insane, The Refugee and Won’t Be Long Now. Their next album to be released in April 2017 is Army Of The Insane.
Carrie’s lyrics and music are influenced by Folk singers from the 1960s such as Phil Ochs, Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan. 80s: The Cure, Dire Straits, and Cindy Lauper. Rap: Public Enemy, Coolio, A Tribe Called Quest as well as The Shins, Vampire Weekend, Astrud Gilberto, Dar Williams, Wilco, Zero 7, Sigur Ros and dné.
All of these very different influences combined create a collection of melodic Folk Electronic songs with compelling and informative messages commenting on social issues: LGBTQ, Global warming, government corruption, the Syrian refugee crisis and human rights. Carrie feels that there is a real need for songs with powerful messages. Now, more then ever.
Carrie is also an Indie Film maker, writer director. Her Sci-Fi comedy movie ASOCKALYPSE is about a group of stoners who save the world from sock stealing aliens. The songs in the movie ASOCKALYPSE were written by her. ASOCKALYPSE was just released September 13th, 2016 on Amazon Prime and soon to be streaming on Amazon Prime video.
