He’s here making moves in Toronto’s underground music scene with his inspired and inspirational sound. A voice that’s not afraid to touch those touchy topics, BigLu91 wants to share his insight and view of the world with the people. At the age of 17, he first started to write and create music; it was a therapy, a way to express his emotions. Coming from a musically influenced household in Malvern, Scarborough, looking up to one of his uncles in the industry, Saint Peter Miller, and his cousin (Produce and Lyricist), SirW. Not only did he have them to mentor his sound, but he learned the technical complexities and diversities through some of his musical idols: Fred The Godson, Talib Kweli, Twista, and Busta Rhymes with comparable remarks to Common mixed with E-40. Attending Wexford School For The Arts helped him to break out of his cocoon and shine in his creativity. With dreams of also becoming an actor. In his off time, he enjoys screenwriting, creating conceptual ideas for video games and television shows, as well as social media content creation blending Toronto Music and Video Games, which he dubs Video Game Music Videos (VGMVs). BigLu91 continues along his musical journey with his newest single, “I Like My Kush,” a comedic song about the similar attractions to cannabis and women; self-produced with mixing and mastering by SirW & LoxxMyth (Saint Peter Miller). His most recent project release "Back 2 Skoo,” Produced by Shaun Friedman of Unbelievable Beats, led to his introduction to Ghanian artist Richie Brain Reflector for his first international feature on Afro Beat sensation “Never Give Up.” With various mixtapes and albums in the works, BigLu91 actively stomps the roads of Toronto, performing at the River St. Underpass with Toronto 2.0, Kensington Market open mics; recently Supermarket’s Wednesday. “I've performed at various open mic events through the R.I.S.E programs,” says Lu, “as well as Jane Street Speaks and Dead Poet. I’ve performed at events through Tdot Records, Joe Wizard, and through Fred E Fame in various Toronto Nightclubs, opening for acts like Choclair and DSTNY.” “I try to lead my fans and listeners to either an ethereal place of thought or an oasis of pleasure and fun. Listen to my music when you want a voice that brings you a feeling of nostalgic good times or an empathetic entity to be a partner in crime to have satirical laughs.” Talking about tricky topics like anxiety, depression & codependency, BigLu91 wants to create an intimate relationship with his fans and his music.
