Bhoicandy

Originating from Osun State in Nigeria, Olamilekan Oluwakorede’s adoration for music developed early on in life. Indeed, the love for music ran in his family, and his enthusiasm for the art eventually contributed to his career as he began composing songs, and even performing during his school days. A testament to his confidence and determination, Olamilekan’s early days were marked by performances in various street events and shows in Osogbo, Osun. With “Samkid”, as his stage name, he steps foot into the musical arena with his manager “DJ Bright” in 2012, even releasing a remarkable single – “Dance to the beat”. After going on a hiatus from 2015 onwards, Olamilekan reinvigorated his passion by returning in 2021 as “Bhoicandy”.

With “DJ Mayorlex” as his producer, Bhoicandy has recently released an energetic composition of pop music – “Medicine”, which has become one of his best singles yet. A debut titled “My Life”, featuring his lifelong best friend Adeyemo Joshua Bamidele or “Lil Jozzy” is also due to be released soon. With experience performing live, on stage at various carnival talent shows in Osogbo and Lagos, Bhoicandy’s talent and collaborative nature has made him one of the fastest growing pop artists in Nigeria.

Possessing an inimitable style, characterized by euphonious music and lyrics enriched with emotion, Bhoicandy’s songs are bound to exhilarate his listeners. For him, producing songs which uplift and enliven is the primal goal, and indeed, what motivates him to continue doing so is the very art he creates. Olamilekan is also a keen learner, deriving inspiration from various local singers and emulating them. Mentored by Wizkid, he wishes to produce beguiling tunes like his, while achieving success in the industry like Davido and Olamide and using their guidance to traverse the industry as a blooming artist. Encompassing very real themes, Bhoicandy’s songs are meant to resonate with his audience. By focusing on themes like family dynamics, relationships, and loneliness, he wants his listeners to intimately experience his music.

Having embarked on this journey, Olamilekan’s objective is continuous improvement, while staying motivated and focused on his goals. He aspires to transform his passion into a professional career, producing exceptional pieces which convey his love for music. Upholding the spirit of collaboration, Bhoicandy hopes to benefit Nigeria’s music industry by serving as a pillar of support for blossoming artists in the future. While he already possesses his own website and Facebook page, in the long term, Bhoicandy aims to form a band and eventually tour the world, showcasing his talent globally.
