Sitting on one of the thousands of vibrantly colored blankets scattered about the lawns of Woodstock. That is what it feels like when one presses play on Aqua Seca’s debut single “Parallelogram.” It has this retro rock feel fans could liken to Pink Floyd but also has pieces that allow it to fit into the here and now alongside Tame Impala. Out April 10, 2019, “Parallelogram” is setting the bar high for what’s to come. Which are four more singles that’ll be released throughout the rest of the year.
The collective being the four men who make up Aqua Seca; Trent Hankinson (songwriting, vocals, guitar), Jacques Trillwood (keyboards), Matt Hunt (bass), and Derek Stewart (drums). Each of them brings something as enjoyable as the last to the table. Trent keeps the wheels turning as he writes, records, and mixes all of Aqua Seca’s music. Which comes naturally for him as he has been playing music since he was in kindergarten. Like Trent, Jacques is a SoCal musician who plays in another band alongside Aqua Seca; Chakra. As for Matt, he met Trent in high school and before making his way into this current endeavor spent a lot of time busking in Santa Cruz. Last but not least, their percussionist extraordinaire came up in the Orange County scene playing in infamous venues like Chain Reaction with his band Ballast.
