True musicians pride themselves on crafting the most unique sounds in music. Often rejecting the confines of standard genres, artists are instead opting to create their own self-named sound. Fyve Hunnit always knew he was destined to be a pioneer within the culture of hip-hop at a young age. Growing up in Syracuse, the emcee also spent time in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, where he grew an appreciation for melodious hooks and dynamite beats. The importance of lyricism within New York instilled a trifecta of crucial elements, elements that soon culminated into “street bop,” Fyve Hunnit’s genre. “It is not music you hear it is music you feel.” With every release, the overall vibe and energy of the record speak volumes more than anything else to him.
