WARNING: These songs may be too creative for the average listener and have been known to make babies cry. That being said, do not be afraid to journey both back in time whilst traveling into the future. An in your face, ears, feet, and even elbows blend of drums, bass, synth, and killer guitar. After all…it is Stellar Revolution!
Stellar Revolution is an accumulation of 34 years of hard work, dedication, failure and success. Inspiration and perspiration are not not just a motto but a way of life. Stellar Revolution was created by Lane “Lovedog” McNees who is a multi instrumentalist, vocalist, engineer, mixer, songwriter, producer and on good days a pretty decent fellow. On bad days still a pretty decent fellow! Stellar Revolution was started when Lane’s wife, Nicole, was diagnosed with advanced stage cancer. He felt helpless and turned to the only thing he knew how to help which was music to try and raise funds for treatment by releasing an album of previously unreleased material on the album “The Fight.” Today, Nicole is in remission and life is great! The new self titled album in a way is a celebration of basically everything. Unfortunately there cannot be good without bad.
Lane McNees was initially Jazz trained and has performed with the band Doublewide at the SXSW Festival in Austin, the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, and has opened for numerous artists including Nickleback, Hank Williams III, Southern Culture on the Skids, Reverend Horton Heat, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Supersuckers, Bowling for Soup, and more.
At one point Lane McNees was a product specialist for Harman Music Group and assisted many guitar players find their sound including Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Steve Stevens of Billy Idol, James Iha of The Smashing Pumpkins, Warren Cuccurullo of Missing Persons/Duran Duran not to mention some of the best musicians including master bassist Jonni Lightfoot (Air Supply, D’ Molls, Starbreaker), and drummer extraordinaire Tod Huntington (Actor and former drummer of Doublewide) which have been both inspirations and learning lessons. Trial and error is all fine and dandy but the fun is in the trial.
Stellar Revolution was started in 2015 out of necessity. When necessities are necessary it is ALWAYS necessarily necessary. Having said that…. original, inspiring, masterful, ingenious music must be created AND shared. Artists of different mediums all share the same internal need and passion to express themselves with or without mass appeal. Stellar Revolution is the creation of Lane “Lovedog” McNees who single handily handles every aspect of music production. You can listen with closed ears and a closed mind or an open mind and open ears. The choice is yours. Stellar Revolution brings music from the past into the future without much caring about the present… which is fleeting.
