We are an Alternative Rock Band based out of the South Shore of good ‘ole Massachusetts. Our rhythmic and percussive layering brings a unique spin on traditional song writing, in an attempt to make your head bang as much as ours do. We’re also on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Spotify, iTunes/Apple Music and much more! Check us out on all our media outlets and tell a friend! (or several)
We want to get to know you, but first let us tell you a little about ourselves:
Zach Connelly: Bass, Guitar, Vocals, Games, Cheese, Star Wars
I play the bass in the band, as well as screaming my little head off for your listening pleasure. I started writing music around the same time that I learned how to play the guitar, exploring my own thoughts and feelings as well as the world around me through my songwriting. I try to throw a bit of that introspection into my music, but also love to get everyone up and dancing around!
Gordon Zemotel: Guitar, Music, also Games, and Doggos
As the heart and soul of this band, I hold everyone together… obviously. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 11 years old and I try every day to increase my musical knowledge in some way. I teach guitar and ukulele and I try to infuse my feelings about music into every one of my students.
Zach Duncan: Drums, Music, Movies, Coffee, Hockey, Boston Sports Fan
As the drummer, I pretty much just hit things with sticks…. or so I’m told. In reality, I try to come up with rhythmically interesting beats that pull from various genres and playing styles. My goal is to have each song have something different and unique to listen for drum-wise, to keep it fresh and exciting. Did I go to Berklee? No, but drumming and music is my passion and that’s not something that can be taught in a classroom.
Q: So what’s with the Logo?
A: Our main logo is a silhouette of a non-specific businessman, politician, or some other figure of power, riding a nuclear warhead as it plummets to its target. The image is designed to show that in this day and age, people are paralyzed by destructive acts and negative mentalities, thus forgetting to use their abilities and voice to create a world of peace and compassion. The name “No Small Matter” can be interpreted in many ways (and we encourage you to find your own interpretation), but primarily, it is meant to serve as an unifying motto; that we as a people are not simply pawns on a chessboard, rather, we are each unique and should not be taken lightly, for we are all no small matter.
