Max Muscato (born April 10th, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer. He was born in Germantown, MD, and raised in Buffalo, NY. Original Max aspired to be a physician, but while attending the University at Buffalo he found himself spending the majority of his time writing music rather than studying. After graduating in 2012, Max traveled to Florida to work as a personal trainer at PGA National. There he trained professionals on the PGA Tour. Music never left him, however, it was his true calling and he decided to follow the call.
Max was rasied by his father, Marc Muscato, in Buffalo, NY. Marc, a professional percussionist, was Max’s first major musical influence. Max afforded his musical skills to his father, who nurtured his talent from an early age. His autistic older brother, Sonny Muscato, was also a drummer. From the time he could walk he Max was playing drums, eventually gravitating to guitar.
At age 13 Max picked up a guitar and was instantly hooked. Growing up with modest roots, he found music was his outlet. Max learned to play by ear; practicing licks from classic rock, modern rock and blues artists. Completely self-taught, he spent countless hours writing original music locked away in his bedroom. His love for classical music ultimately led him to blend all three genres together, crating his own signature sound.
Max’s unique sound is a tapestry created from his greatest influences: John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Stone Temple Pilots, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and composers Yanni, Enya, Paul Cardall among others. After years of developing as an artist Max crafted a signature sound and incorporated it into all of his compositions, from the edgiest piece to the most tranquil.
2017 would be the year of live shows and ambition. As Max’s network broadened, he began playing more well-known venues around the New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Toronto. After being nominated as Buffalo’s best Guitarist and Singer-Songwriters, he began touring across the country.
July 1st, 2017 was the release of Max’s debut album Act One. It quickly caught the eye of a young ambitious company known as Sensu Music, ultimately signing Max to Sensu Records.
Along with his music career, Max is very passionate about a nonprofit organization he started known as Rock Autism Music Festival. The connection of Max’s music and autism is a deep-rooted catalyst that drives his passion and career. Rock Autism Music Festival takes place in Ellicottville, NY and has seen over 4,000 patrons.
Max has gained an extensive following and has touring and opened for various acts such as: Citizen Cope, Our Lady Peace, Theory of a Deadman, Aaron Carter, Finger Eleven, Ripe and more.
