Biography

Four Day Beard’s music is brooding and dynamic indie rock with americana, post-punk, shoegaze and experimental elements.

“The album’s unusual instrumentation, forlorn lyrics, and striking but unobtrusive melodies are immediately attractive—which is sort of amazing for a band clearly operating well outside the mainstream.” – The New Times

“Feels like I Might Disintegrate”, from Four Day Beard’s debut self titled album won second place in the “open” category in the 2016 New Times Music Awards.

“Feels like I Might Disintegrate, revolves around warm organ, percussion, guitar and bass. It’s another exceptional song all around. Take a dash of Sparklehorse and The Flaming Lips and you might get an idea of what this song sounds like. ” – Matt Jensen / Divide and Conquer Music

Four Day Beard has also been featured in ads for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, independent music podcasts, streaming online radio stations as well as traditional college and independent FM stations across the country.

Four Day Beard’s self titled album is available on iTunes and all streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon, Google Play, etc.

Lyric Sheet

I guess you noticed I’m not from around here

Feels like I landed here from outer space

There’s no train or jet airplane

Can take me back where I belong

Feels like I might disintegrate

If I don’t make it back home

Could you gather my belongings?

And bury them in your yard?

I’ve got the devil in my front pocket

Says he likes the way you say my name

Some folks waste so many words

Just to say a very simple thing

Feels like, Feels like… I might disintegrate

I’ve got an angel on my left shoulder

Says I never listen anyway

Some folks waste so many words

Just to say a very simple thing

Press Quotes

“ The album’s unusual instrumentation, forlorn lyrics, and striking but unobtrusive melodies are immediately attractive—which is sort of amazing for a band clearly operating well outside the mainstream.” and  “Very interesting sounds indeed.” –  The New Time’s SLO

Right out of the bat I thought the vocals were exceptional. It reminded me of the lead singer from Wolf Parade. The first song “Kentucky Gentlemen”  maybe the highlight on the EP and has great lyrics, inventive instrumentation and catchy melodies.” –  No More Division
