Konai Adelphe (Greek for equal sisters) is a gospel music group that hails from Knoxville, Tennessee. What you see is what you get! Bold, spicy, soft, and a bit offbeat female R&B gospel singers who bring their own twist to the sound of salvation! Their music is a mixture of traditional and non-traditional gospel music mingled with some old school R&B, Neo-Soul, Jazz, Blues, Rap, Reggae, contemporary music and sprinkled with a lil’ bit of Country! The Founder, Leader, and Songwriter of this eclectic group of female artists is Evangelist Cynthia R. Butler. She is accompanied by Shilia Rogers, Lacquicia Blair, Charlotte Weaver, and Jacquelyn Rhett. This exciting bunch of females love to sing, travel, and spread the Word of Jesus Christ with their wonderful brand of music ministry that is Konai!

The group started wtih the two sisters; Cynthia Butler and Lacquicia Blair who sang with a varity of local R&B groups, they were later joined by sister Shilia Rogers when they began to sing Barber Shop as a base to blend their sound but always with a desire to creat a unique style. By 1991 these three had formed a group known simply as “The Sisters”. In 1992 the sisters then became the “AL Butler Singers” which had other members and was name for their beloved Pastor Dr. Allen L. Butler Sr. of Universal Church of Deliverance in Knoxville, Tennessee where they still attend services. After the separation of many member of the “AL Butler Singers”, the group restarted under a new name and thus becoming what is now known as “Konai Aldephe”, (Greek for Common and Equal Sisters). Press Quotes

by Seamus Fitzpatrick on November 24, 2018
Konai Adelphe is a Gospel Music Group who hails from Knoxville, Tennessee. Their glistening sound is a mixture of traditional and non-traditional gospel music, amalgamated with old school R&B, neo-soul, jazz, blues, rap, reggae, contemporary music, adorned with a smidge of country. That might sound like a mouthful, but the sound is enlightened. The group released their first self-titled EP in 2016. Then in April of 2018, they released their sophomore effort EveryBody. A sophisticated contemporary gospel album that shimmers. That’s the short of It!
Postive:Contemporary grooves and slinky production and seriously well-oiled vocals, by a group of ladies that can serve of soulful helpings of mighty voices and tightly woven harmonies.
The tunes are reminiscent of hit pop-tunes, filled with heavy grooves and uplifting lyrics. Konai Adelphe has a sound that speaks beyond its religious lyrics. Tunes like, “Boom,” and “Next Generation,” speak to the updated gospel sound the vocal quintet offers. Whereas tunes like “Come Home,” and “Always Put Your Trust in God,” offer more of a traditional gospel flavor. The ladies voices blend together nicely, invoking beautifully blended vocals that offer a sweetness when needed, while at other times a bold and edgy sound. EveryBody has something for everyone. There are plenty of gems in each tune and a bounty of positive affirmations.

From the Singing Freeman’s Network: interview and performance we enjoyed Konai Adelphe. Their harmony is phenomenal and music is an expression of what we all can relate to in our everyday lives. Their song ” Boom” and ” Another day At midnight” their performance was great and very professional. Renee Freeman- of the Singing Freeman’s Network
