Press release writing and distribution: what to expect

ArtistPR’s Done-For-You (DFY) service is for an artist who wants ArtistPR to write a press release and distribute the approved version. It is separate from the self-written press release included with Premium Membership.

What is included

ArtistPR writes the release from your questionnaire responses. After you approve the final draft, it is distributed to music magazines and blogs, ABC/CBS/CW/Fox/NBC-affiliated sites, newspapers and major news sites, regional and local news sites, social media, and an email blast to industry contacts. You receive a report with live links when distribution is complete.

The existing service description says DFY distribution is guaranteed on at least 250 news sites, or 100+ when the release contains explicit content. Read the product page for the current offer details before ordering.

How it works

1. Order the Done-For-You press release service.
2. Sign in to portal.artistpr.com with the email used for the order and submit the questionnaire. Writing does not begin until the questionnaire is submitted.
3. A writer prepares a draft from your answers. The stated estimate is about 10 business days.
4. Review the draft and request revisions. The revision stage can take up to 10 more business days, depending on the amount of revision.
5. Approve the final draft. Distribution usually takes about 5 business days.
6. Receive the report with live links after distribution is complete.

What you need to provide

Provide complete, accurate answers in the client-portal questionnaire. If your release includes an image, the order workflow supports an optional image upload. Submit any revision requests through the review step so the writer has the necessary direction.

Common questions

Is this included with Premium Membership?

No. The DFY service is paid separately. Premium Membership includes a once-a-month self-written release submission for approval; that option is published on ArtistPR and sent in an industry email blast, but it does not include a distribution report.

When does the timeline start?

The timeline starts after you submit the questionnaire, not when you place the order. The stated sequence is about 10 business days for writing, up to 10 more for revisions, and about 5 for distribution.
