PayPal API Credentials

To generate your PayPal API credentials:

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. In the top right corner, hover over your name and click Account Settings.
3. Look for API access and click Update.
4. Scroll down to NVP/SOAP API integration and click Manage API Credentials.
5. If this is your first time creating API credentials, complete the API Credential Request form.
6. Once created, you’ll see a View API Signature option under NVP/SOAP API integration — click it, then click each Show link to reveal your API username, API password, and signature.

Then, to enable Instant Payment Notifications (IPN):

1. Hover over your name in the top right corner again and click Account Settings.
2. On the left menu, click Website payments.
3. Look for Instant payment notifications and click Update.
4. Select Receive IPN messages (Enabled).
5. Enter your notification URL: https://[your_username].musicprosite.com/?wc-api=WC_Gateway_Paypal (replace [your_username] with your actual site username).
6. Click Save.

If any of these menu labels have moved in PayPal’s dashboard since this was written, the underlying settings (API access, NVP/SOAP credentials, IPN) are still the ones to look for — contact us if you can’t locate them.
