Tell us about yourself and your music

As of right now, I’m 18 years old and live in South Florida. I grew up on the teenie island of Key West. I spend most of my time singing and doing makeup. I also spend a lot of time with my animals. I love all types of animals! I was basically, raised w/exotic pets as siblings so I’m quick at grasping individual animal’s personalities, why they do what they do and when they do it. People, on the other hand, give excuses for why they do what they do not really fully understanding why people bite unprovoked. I’m
Sure you’ve been bitten, bullied, and belittled. Growing up I was constantly bullied by my peers. Like…..weird bullying. They planned everything out meticulously. They were persistent too! The stress and the trauma I went through caused me to develop pretty bad fibromyalgia and daily chronic migraines, anxiety disorder, depression, and PTSD, all because multiple adults and kids didn’t have a muzzle on. Unfortunate right? ………Ha WRONG! Actually, it is pretty unfortunate but, I’m okay and I want to show people they’re going to be okay too! I want to inspire people to take their negative situations and turn them into positive! Most importantly I wanna teach others to love. I want to show people that you have the strength in you to chase your dreams despite your obstacles or ailments. It’s been my greatest therapy striving to make music that makes a difference, and positive effect in some way.

Talk to us more about your latest release

‘XYZ’ is a song about realizing your worth knowing it’s okay to end toxic relationships, whether it’s romantic or just friendship.

What inspired you to write this release?

Producer James Anthony Shepherd of PLYBCK Music Group who is credited as working with Farruko, Mikey woods, slightly Stoopid, Flo Rida, Trina, Lil Wayne, Kodak Black, YFN Lucci, and more played me the unfinished version of XYZ. I really liked it and was able to finish writing the song so that it felt more of my own and resonated with what I was feeling at the time. I had come to a place of realizing my X wasn’t worth my time anymore.

Describe the writing and recording process

The writing and recording process was a bit different then my previous songs as the song was already partially written. I basically took from what already existed and continued what had already fit in with the relationship I had ended and started writing out the second verse and bridge with my own personal thoughts and feelings and then agreeing on the exact final words with James Tony and Ice of PLYBCK at Bay Eight Studios in Miami where the song was recorded. It took a long time to record XYZ because I was in a weird headspace in addition to recording some other songs like ‘Enough’ in LA during that time as well as COVID shutting things down. I was full of anxiety all of the time. There’d be days we drove an hour to the studio, headphones on pop filter secured and I’d have to go home and try it again the next week or month. I was always too anxious, too tired, or in too much pain. But hey! we got the song done in like 9 months, and I think pushing through has helped me to not give up in the future and to see everything worked out okay or better than okay since I’m happy with how the song came out.

Any plans to release a video?

Any plans to hit the road?

I don’t have any tour dates but I will definitely be going back and forth to LA to record more new music and hang with friends…SAFELY AND RESPONSIBLY

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

Well. I’m not really that comfortable with comparing myself to others. I guess I would say that I have been told that my tone and voice are my own sound, not really sounding super similar to big Artist that I think other up and coming artists trying to sound like sometimes. That’s really important to me. My Dad always tells me to sing like Sophia Gonzon and not like one of my favorite artists lol. So far whether it be my originals or cover songs I released I’ve tried to sing with emotion and heart connecting my voice with what the song is about rather than trying to sound like one of the top artists everyone is already listening to. I started at age 16 and know I have a lot to learn. With that being said going forward at this stage in the game I plan to make each new song a project of sorts whether it be pop, dance, alternative, or rock.  I plan to make sure it has the key elements to make a really good song not just another one to get more out there without much thought. For instance, looking and listening to great songs of the past and what it was that made them so great. I really like the whole creative process and brainstorming, then the recording is the icing on the cake. I do love all genres of music but right now I am finding myself wanting to make more rock or pop-rock songs and I think right now will probably be what stands out as my brand as I move forward.

Who have you been listening to lately?

I think I will always listen to Ariana Grande lol. I’ve also lately been listening to Green Day, Yung Blud, Melanie Martinez, and Lady Gaga

Who are your biggest influences?

I would say some of my biggest influences are Ariana Grande of course! Green Day, Demi Lavato, Avril Lavigne definitely, Lady Gaga, Adele, Melanie Martinez, Katy Perry, XXXtentacion, Nicki Minaj, Oh and definitely Justin Bieber!

Tell us about your passions

I am very passionate about standing up for what you believe in, not following the masses, still after all I’ve been through sticking to your true self doing the right thing even tho you will be viewed as the bad one and suffer backlash for it. My music and telling my story as I did earlier in this interview to hopefully lesson at least a little of the bullying that goes on in our world, inspires those who are struggling with illnesses or other obstacles to still chase their dreams and carry on, as well as promote the teaching of love in our schools period.  I am passionate about the people close to me and feel very protective of them. I also am passionate about science and animals. I originally planned to go to college to become a Veterinarian.  Since I was unable to re-enter a high school building because of PTSD I had to graduate high school through testing out, online, and other assessments while pursuing a music career instead. I may still pursue becoming a Veterinarian or become more involved with animals in some way for now my passion with them is with my pets, my Severe Macaw (Veli), my 2 pugs (Romeo and Fi Fi) several Lizard species, a kinkajou, prairie dog, and tarantula to name a few.

What else is happening next in your world?

I  just finished up a new song that is more on the rock side that I am hugely excited to release next. I wrote and recorded it along with Ryan Curtis, signed to Kobalt Music who is an amazing singer/songwriter himself, and Cesar da Emperor who is managed by Post Malone’s and other huge artists manager Dre London. Cesar is also signed to Create Music Group. I was the first Artist to record at Create music group’s brand new amazing facility in LA, and I am currently in the process of signing to Create Music group as well, so I will be heading back to LA soon to create more songs with Ryan and Cesar at Create. As a side project, I was contacted by  On Mars management to be a part of Julian and Jovani Jara’s known as 99goonsquad Upcoming EP so hopefully, I will have that to share with all of you soon as well.
