Tell us about yourself and your music

I’m an emotional rapper who came to Norway when I was 5 years old. Born in Liberia 11.04.1998. I started with music because of my past, my life has always been a mess until I got 17. Music makes me free, it makes my spirit to just let all the pain go in the emotional atmosphere of mine. I call myself for “WPK” its stands for my whole name (Williams Papay Kollie), but now I have changed my name to (Williams Gabriel Kollie). To have my private name has “WPK” it means a lot to me.

Talk to us more about your latest release

My lastest music is “Moon” that I came out with the 15 of May. This song explains how life can suddenly turn around even if you have walked the Moon. I made this song with Katrine Langlo because of her incredible voice. Moon is full if emotional & the instrumental part has a chilled-sad vibes feeling.

22 of June I’ll be dropping “Beautiful and Perfect” with an Italian artist Simon A. This is my first time making a song with an Italian artist. The song has many styles of genre & full a lot of emotions.

I also just started working with a Songwriter “Anne Dahl Schjelderup” & we have futures plans that we can’t wait to share with our fans. Anne Dahl Schjelderup became a team with WPK Productions (Label).

What inspired you to write this release?

For “Moon” I wanted to let people know that it’s fine to feel pain sometimes. We can’t be happy all the time even if you have all you need to live.

For “Beautiful and Perfect” is about broken hearts. Nowadays many people often break up because of cheating or that the other partner just wants to live a single life. Some of the text in the story I have experienced.

Describe the writing and recording process

The writing process of those two songs was hard but all of the words came from my heart & mind. (Moon) & (Beautiful And Perfect) was recorded in my Studio in Trondheim. The mixing & mastering was done by my talented mixing & mastering engineer “Giovanni Iotti”.

Any plans to release a video?

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

My music stands out from other artists because I often rap about life (Mylife). My goal is to hit people directly in the heart & mind. My music often letting people know that they are not alone in this world. My music has a blend of Pop, Hip Hop, Trap, Chill & R&B kind of style. I always like to have an acoustic guitar in my songs.

Who have you been listening to lately?

The past days I have been listening to a lot of artists on the (Broken Heart) & (Sad Songs) playlist by Spotify. But my favorite artist is XXXTENTACION. I feel like we have the same vibe & same song style. I didn’t know about him before his terrible death. I remember it hit me because I felt that I & him was alike.
