Tell us about yourself and your music
I’m an artist that just speaks from her heart. Like I know a lot of the time I’m coming from a hurt place, but it’s that place that pushes me to be a better me. You know? A lot of the pain I experienced in life really just made me depressed at one point and I didn’t see the point, until one day I recorded in the studio and listened to the track and realized then; this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
Talk to us more about your latest release
My latest release on Spotify is titled “Ride Wit”. It’s just like a love song… It really came from a materialistic kind of state that I am in, and not so much the love itself. The love is more of an idea and an infatuation with the finer things in life. It kind of depicted a relationship I was in. The relationship was built off of materialistic infatuations and lust, and “Ride Wit” just kind of describes the relationship.
What inspired you to write this release?
I think what inspired me the most to write this release was the relationship was really like no other I had been in. I could tell like we liked each other, but the attraction wasn’t genuine. More attracted to what we could do for each other as far as building each other up for a lavish materialistic lifestyle. He was fun and somebody I could just ride with and chill with and really vibe, but we both also really have big materialistic infatuations. So we were drawn to those finer things. The relationship was fun you know, and the song was made really to express the fun and infatuations.
Describe the writing and recording process
The writing process of this song was kinda different for me, cause it was like as I was experiencing this relationship I was coming up with the song as we went in the relationship. So the song wasn’t actually done until after the relationship ended. Ha. Funny right. The irony in writing sometimes. I recorded this song with one of my favorite engineers in my bedroom on his brand new nice mic, it was kind of dope cause I was the first person to use this mic that was a highly expensive mic and the song I’m recording is about materialistic love, oh boy the irony behind the process of this song. Well, the recording was a blast, we got right to it and when I was done recording listening to his edit, we just both looked at each other like “you this is a summer bop for real.!”
Any plans to release a video?
Any plans to hit the road?
I haven’t given the green light yet on the tickets but it may be safe to say that I will MORE THAN LIKELY be attending CMRG Super Party/ Artist and Model Search with Host Hollywood from CMRG Midwest records on January 25th In Walnut Grove, Mississippi. In the process of actually booking that flight and stuff now.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
I will just be myself man, nothing like your authentic self to draw people in. You know? I think that’s what my fans love the most about me. The fact that I’m always being myself, and expressing who I am and my experiences in my music. I think just being me and staying true to myself is what brands me and makes me different from the rest, cause nobody can be ME.
Who have you been listening to lately?
Lately, I’ve listened to a lot of Juice Wrld. His death really has taken a toll on me, and he was my favorite artist and still is. But I also listen to a lot of Trippie Redd, Aylek$, Nicki Minaj cause you to know she is the Queen of rap right!? Ha! And really just depends on my mood. But lately, it’s been my bro Juice.
Who are your biggest influences?
Nicki Minaj of course, inspired me so much as a little girl to chase my dreams and make them come true. She taught me how to rap low key!!! But also the GOAT Lil Wayne, man at 12 I knew every word to every song on the Carter 1, 2, and 3!! Haha!! And nowadays I have beautiful souls like XXXTENTACION and Juice Wrld inspiring me.
Tell us about your passions
My passions have always been music. I think since I was in the womb honestly because my mother told me that I use to be wild in her stomach until she put headphones on her belly and bumped some Tupac for me!! Haha! I guess it would make me stop kicking her. Hilarious. But it’s not just music really I love all forms of art. Just the idea of being able to express what you really need to express in the form of art is just beautiful to me.
What else is happening next in your world?
- I’m working on a new album
- I plan on making myself even more known than last year!
