Thamar Smith (born May 22nd, 1984) is an American Rapper, Singer, Writer, Record Producer, and Audio Engineer better known by his stage name Vizion100, V100, or V.
V has released various albums during his career including his latest “To Reign”. He is an independent artist who helps other artist achieve their goals through writing, producing, or engineering their music.
Talk to us more about your latest release
V has just recently released “To Reign” in January 2020 to start of the new year with a bang! It is lyrical from beginning to end with catchy hooks and easy to follow melodies. It is full of an amazing beat selection and each song makes you want to play on repeat. So far, the numbers are speaking for themselves as “To Reign” has reached over 300,000 listens in less than two weeks.
What inspired you to write this release?
Family, friends, fans, everyday people, and other artist inspired the album. I wanted to give them something that they can work out to, drive to, listen to while at work, clean up, and chill to.
Describe the writing and recording process
I went through multiple beats of which I wrote to. There are plenty of songs that I took off last minute. I felt the songs that I kept were perfect for this release title. This album was created by me from the lyrics, arrangement, mixing, and mastering.

Any plans to hit the road?
I’m making more music now and paying attention to what songs people are gravitating towards off the “To Reign” album. I will start performing early Summer through the end of the year.
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
I compete with myself, meaning I want to better than what I was yesterday. In a musical sense, I want the quality of records to better next time. I challenge myself to create songs that I have never done before. I know what people want to hear from me based off the success from prior songs so I still stay true to those styles when creating music, but I like to do new things as you never know unless you try.
Who have you been listening to lately?
When I am making music, I usually do not listen to anybody because I’m busy listening to beats and writing. Listening to beats made to find ways to make them better. I’m listening to music I created when I’m around the house, in the car, or at work to find flaws or ways to improve the song. If I’m listening to anything outside of my own, it is artist I’m working with, top 100, or a song that is making so much noise its hard to escape it.
Who are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences are Jay-Z, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Timbaland, Pharrell, Just Blaze, Kanye West, Havoc, Metro Boomin etc. Everybody that is somebody.

Family being #1, Music 2nd, Working out 3rd, Faith, Gaming, Fashion, Eating, and Basketball.
What else is happening next in your world?
I’m working on a few artists hoping to help tailor their craft and get some music out there to put some smiles on a few people’s faces.
