Tell us about yourself and your music

My name is Pandamonium and I’m a Hip Hop producer currently residing in Exeter, Devon. Having years of experience as a DJ / Turntablist (2 x DMC UK Finalist and Redbull Drop Champion) I have been spending the last 10 years honing my production skills and am now a fairly regular name in the UK Hip Hop scene.

Talk to us more about your latest release

My latest single has a very interesting story behind it which I will explain… After the release of my solo single “Summer BBQ Joint”, I was strangely overcome by an altruistic feeling that I was in some small way doing my part right now in providing my fans and the public with some much needed ‘feel good’ to try and help maintain a healthy psychological state under the pressures and uncertainties that this year has bestowed upon us all! I say altruistic, as at first, it felt selfless, but upon realizing that this thought made me happy, I decided to indulge the feeling some more, and subsequently came up with one of the most feel-good beats that I have concocted in some time! I immediately sent this beat to several mc’s off the top of my head that I knew had the perfect flows for this kinda vibe, in search of filling 4 x 16 bar verses.
Within minutes, my homies Sir Burbia, Costi, One Oz, and Canada’s finest. Es, all hit me back extremely keen to jump on board, and within the space of 72 hours, I had all FOUR verses written, recorded, and sent back to me ready to mix, edit and arrange!

Fast forward a week or so, after mastering, individually recording clips for the video, editing, knocking up artwork, distribution, etc.. we are now very excited to be able to bring you a message of hope and positivity in the form of “That Feel Good”!!!

Four unique and uplifting verses from London, Edinburgh and even Ontario (Canada), over the mother of all boom-bap feel-good beats from your favorite cornish cockney (who’s actually from Hampshire 😉🐼)

What inspired you to write this release?

As I mentioned before, we are all going through very testing times in 2020, so my inspiration to make this song is solely to help bring some positivity to the world.

Describe the writing and recording process

Everything moved really quickly! I had made the base beat in the space of an evening, sent to the 4 featured mc’s, received all 4 verses back within 72 hours, and had a complete song merely days afterward! One of the most naturally flowing songs that I have ever orchestrated.

Any plans to release a video?

Any plans to hit the road?

Not at present, but in the not too distant future I am planning to put together a huge stage show using turntables and featured mc’s together, keep an eye out!

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

I have always created and designed my own artwork as I’ve never really had a budget. And having perfected that over the years I’ve been able to be in total control over my branding and how my music is presented luckily. Organization and having a game plan is essential in this industry for an independent artist!!

Who have you been listening to lately?

A huge array of music really, especially when I’m digging for samples, but Hip Hop wise I’ve really been feeling the vibes from artists such as One Oz, Es, Sir Burbia, Costi,… pretty much every artist that I’ve worked with over the past year or so haha! But other than those who I’ve collaborated with, mostly heads like Micall Parknsun, Gee Bag, Babylon Dead, Masta Ace & Marco Polo, Jamo Gang, to name a few.

Who are your biggest influences?

So many to name, but primarily DJ Premier, Pete Rock, J Dilla, and Harry Love.

I only have 2 passions in this world… music and my family. Anything creative or artistic always stirs my soul!

What else is happening next in your world?

So many positive and progressive things! I have an EP currently in production with Es from Canada, I have been given the honor of being the sole producer of Dizzy Dustin’s (Ugly Duckling) forthcoming project, more collaborations to come, and I’m also delving into a new genre with a new alias at some point soon also, so lot’s more to come!!
